EVAN Releases First Mini Album DEATH OF ME, Taking Creative Control Across Eight Tracks

SEOUL — K-pop artist EVAN is beginning a new chapter in his career with the release of his first mini album, DEATH OF ME.

Released September 7, the eight-track project follows EVAN's solo debut earlier this year and gives the artist an opportunity to take a larger role in shaping his own music.

EVAN took the creative lead across all eight tracks, contributing to the songwriting, production and overall creative direction of the project. According to his label, BELIFT LAB, the album reflects his personal experiences, emotions and determination to continue moving forward.

The album's title track, “Death of Me,” is a Pop R&B song co-written by EVAN. The track centers on perseverance and staying true to yourself, with the singer declaring that whatever challenges come his way will not stop him.

The accompanying music video embraces the energy of a live performance. Built around the concept of “LIVE,” the video plays with the word's connection to both being alive and performing onstage.

The rest of the album explores a wide range of sounds, including Pop, Pop R&B, Alternative Rock, Indie Pop and Dream Pop.

The tracklist opens with the energetic “Not Enough,” “Noise” and “Ride or Die,” before moving into songs such as “Twilight,” “Immature,” “Overflow” and “Going Home.” The progression takes listeners from a more intense opening toward a reflective and softer conclusion.

The release also represents an important step in EVAN's evolution as a solo artist. He first debuted as HEESEUNG of ENHYPEN in 2020, where he became known for his vocals and stage presence. His work in songwriting and production has also become an increasingly important part of his artistic identity.

Now performing under the name EVAN, the artist is using DEATH OF ME to establish his own musical direction and explore a broader range of sounds.

The album's release follows EVAN's solo debut in June and marks another step in what BELIFT LAB describes as his evolving artistry.
